Robert Pattinson raised $60,000 to kiss two teenage girls

The "Twilight" star auctioned off two "pecks on the cheek" at the star-studded amfAR charity benefit at the Cannes Film Festival last night (May 21, 2009).

The 23-year-old actor was sitting at a table with Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana at the lavish Hotel du Cap when movie mogul Harvey Weinstein suggested Pattinson sell a smooch.

A fellow partygoer said: "Harvey joked from the stage that his daughters changed their last name to Pattison after they saw 'Twilight.'"

"Harvey then suggested auctioning off an opportunity for someone's daughter to meet and get a kiss on the cheek from Pattinson. There were two bidders who paid £20,000 each for their daughters to have that kiss."

Pattinson was shocked by the impromptu auction, but agreed to take part to raise money for charity.

A source said: "Harvey put him on the spot, in a playful way. And Robert agreed to it in his usual brooding, modest way."

The proceeds will go to amfAR, an international foundation for AIDS research.

Joshua Jackson, Diana Kruger, Josh Hartnett and Danny Glover also donated items, including a saxophone donated by former US President Bill Clinton, which sold for $130,000.

“I can confirm the Maguires had a baby boy today, and the family is healthy and happy,” says rep Kelly Bush.

Maguire, 33, and Meyer, 31, are also parents to daughter Ruby, 2 1/2. The couple met in 2003 and married in 2007.

Hot Kim Kardashian thinks a spruced-up Bruce Jenner is better than ever.

“Bruce has gotten a lot of media criticism in the past for getting an ill-advised partial facelift and a nose job,” Kardashian tells PEOPLE exclusively as her step-father’s latest plastic surgery is documented and revealed on the family’s reality show, Keeping Up with the Kardashians.

“He has never ever spoken about this until now,” she says of the incident 25 years ago. “It’s very heartfelt and I think people will see how sweet and simply human Bruce is.”

Regarding Jenner’s look on her blog Monday morning, Kardashian writes, “Unfortunately, the result wasn’t what Bruce had hoped for and for years since then he has been the victim of cruel taunts from the media. Since he’s turning 60 in October, Bruce felt it was time to correct the mistakes made by the previous doctor so he went to a new doctor for a second facelift. The results are amazing! Bruce looks better than ever and he is extremely happy with the result.”

This time around the Olympian “just wanted to be more natural and refreshed,” adds a source.

Jenners’s new look will be revealed next Sunday on the show.

“My mom loves it, but unfortunately it’s not true,” says Cooper, who split with actress Jennifer Esposito after four months of marriage in 2007.

“Susan would be perfectly happy with a lucrative reality show,” said a source who knows Boyle. “She’d love to win (‘Britain’s Got Talent’), but there are no guarantees of success with a singing career. If she got a really good reality show deal she could have a nice savings and go back to the life she was living before all of this happened.”

Boyle admitted to Oprah Winfrey that she didn’t necessarily think she was going to win the competition. A source who knows the British singer says she'd love to win "Britain's Got Talent," but a reality show deal could provide her enough money to comfortably return to her old life.

LOS ANGELES - Ailing Natalie Cole now has a new kidney.

The 59-year-old singer underwent successful kidney transplant surgery “and is resting comfortably,” publicist Maureen O’Connor said Wednesday. Cole will postpone her summer tour, which was set to begin June 5 and run through November, as she recovers.

Cause appears to be suicide; 28-year-old had role in ‘Spider-Man 3’
PARIS - British actress Lucy Gordon, who appeared in “Spider-Man 3,” was found dead in her Paris apartment after apparently committing suicide, French police said Thursday. She was 28.

An autopsy has been ordered to determine the cause of death, though it appeared to be a suicide, said an official with the Paris police headquarters. The official, who spoke on condition of anonymity because of police agency policy, gave no details. Read More

Sutherland, designer resolve head-butt incident

NEW YORK - Kiefer Sutherland and the fashion designer he’s accused of head-butting at a Manhattan night club said Friday they resolved their differences, clearing the way for the charges to be dropped.

Sutherland and Jack McCollough issued a brief joint statement Friday to The Associated Press through Sutherland’s attorney.

A publicist for the 77-year-old actress says she "entered the hospital for a routine visit and is doing fine."

Nick Cannon Insists: No Beef With Eminem Over Mariah Carey Dis

Cannon wrote and then quickly took down a long blog post where he accused Eminem of being racially insensitive and "still obsessed with my wife, the same female that wouldn't let him get to second base from eight years ago"; Eminem later said Cannon had misinterpreted the song.

Entertainment Weekly talked with Cannon on Thursday about the issue.

"I felt like I said what I had to say," Cannon said. "I didn't take [the post] down, like, 'Oh, somebody instructed me to do it' or anything like that. It was just one of those things, like, I said it."

As for the real reason he took the post down, Cannon said it had to do with the traffic to his Web site, which "pretty much crashed my site. There'd be thousands and thousands of comments and people couldn't leave comments on other posts or any of that stuff. So that was the only reason why I took it down."

And while noted that he doesn't have any regrets about what he said — "I feel exactly the same way by it and stick by everything, but I think it's one of those things where it becomes that it's not really that big of a deal, you know?" — he did say he has no beef with the MC.

"I never even considered it as beef," he said. "It's not beef. It's just, Hey, I heard the record. I said what I had to say."

Cannon went on to praise his relationship with Carey. "I feel that my relationship with my wife is one of the best things — or the best thing — that's ever happened to me, and it has nothing to do with celebrity or this industry.
